Maintenance Technician – Service Engineer – Brussels

 

 

 

To support the growth within DEF Belgium we are looking for technicians for our after sales service, for the Brussels region.

Function
As a Service Engineer you are responsible for the following tasks:

  • Performing preventive, curative and adaptive maintenance of electronic security systems (fire detection, intrusion, access control) to ensure the continuity and proper functioning for our customers, taking into account the contractual obligations and applicable standards.
  • Advising our customers on possible modifications and/or extensions that improve security followed by the possible implementation of these modifications.
  • Through correct reporting/communication with the customers and our dispatching about the executed works, you ensure a smooth handling of the administrative part.
  • You report to the regional Group Leader.
  • After the necessary training, you participate in the on-call service 24/7 according to a rotation schedule.

Breakdown service – Maintenance – Small jobs ” PTX

  • Application of regulations applicable to construction sites
  • Carrying out work in compliance with safety regulations (VCA)

Troubleshooting on systems:

  • Personal contact with the customer as instructed by the Regional Groupleaders (RGL)/Teamleaders (TL),… .
  • Scheduling appointments with the customer, taking into account the contractual obligations of the maintenance contract.
  • Carry out repairs independently in accordance with the applicable regulations and standards.
  • The customer signs a duly completed breakdown report for the services provided by the company.
  • The customer is informed of any repairs carried out as part of the maintenance contract.
  • Dispatching is always kept informed of the status of breakdowns and at least one scan of the report is sent to the customer on departure.
  • Immediately report any anomaly to the RGL/TL/… .
  • Participate in on-call duties (24 hours a day) in accordance with the on-call schedule.

Carry out the periodic maintenance of the systems provided for in the contract

  • Maintenance is carried out strictly in accordance with the annual schedule received at least one month in advance.
  • Maintenance is carried out using a checklist, based on the services provided for in the contract and the applicable regulations and standards (NBN DTD S21-100, BOSEC, FiSQ).
  • After maintenance, ensure that the technical file and drawings are updated in accordance with the “As-Built” situation and the applicable technical specifications, both at DEF and at the customer’s premises, if this is provided for in the maintenance contract.
  • Keep the planners informed of the status of maintenance.
  • Send the files to be invoiced to the admin department by the 15th of the month at the latest.
  • Immediately report any deviation from the schedule to the CS EP/RGL/PROJECT ENGINEER/TL supervisor.
  • During maintenance, check and complete the checklist.
  • Analyse the installation in place, notify the customer of any anomalies and report system faults to the RGL/TL/… .

Small PTX jobs

  • Carry out work on the system as instructed.
  • Keeps dispatching informed of the status of files.
  • Provide the data required by the admin department for invoicing (material used, end-of-entry report, hours worked).
  • Check that the technical file and plans comply with the “As-Built” situation.

Reporting and communication

  • Reports in a qualitative and timely way.
  • Communicate well with customers and management.

Indicators of results

  • The team respects the given schedule
  • PTX generated

Profile

  • You have a higher secondary degree in electronics, electromechanics or electricity.
  • Working with a PC is not strange to you.
  • You master the basic skills of measurements with a multimeter (current, voltage, resistance), the analytical measurements (battery autonomy calculation impedance lines, ….) and you can think logically to isolate a fault.
  • You are communicative, customer-oriented and careful.
  • You are familiar with the Microsoft Office packages Word, Excel and Windows Outlook.
  • As part of a team you are punctual, flexible, have a sense of order and tidiness, handle procedures and work documents carefully and can work both in a team and independently.
  • You have no fear of heights.
  • You are in possession of a permanent driving license B.
  • You have a good knowledge of Dutch and French, both spoken and written is definitely a plus.
  • Some experience/knowledge in 1 or more of the following domains: low voltage (fire safety, burglary, access control, CCTV, PLC), VCA certified, have a AWP licence, are aware of standards NBN S21-100, EN 12-094, have a good basis in Ethernet and/or communication networks (RS232/RS485/J-Bus/ESPA,…), is a plus.
